Portrait/ Headshots/ Branding/ Senior/ Editorial Concept and Visual Arts Photographer
Introduction and objective…
Hello, my name is Celestial or Celeste! I am a niche photographer, specializing in editorial creative concept shoots. I like to bring an editorial style into my portraits, headshots, and branding sessions. Located in Portland Oregon, I love to take advantage of the amazing scenery of the PNW. However, being in the PNW the weather doesn’t always cooperate, not every client wants photos in the rain. To accommodate when the weather isn’t ideal, I have built a small garage studio for a more controlled environment.
I create a vision for my clients showing off their lifestyle or brand. Every session is carefully curated to each individual client. I am always open to experimenting with styles and techniques to provide a memorable and unique experience for each client. A rigorous planning stage is pretty typical before each shoot, building on the vision for my client and a special effor to get to know them first to make sure we are a good fit. There are some services I do not offer, because I don’t have a passion for them…it is important that I am a good fit for your needs. I have no problem letting a potential client know I can not achieve what they are looking for. I strongly believe that when hiring a photographer you don’t just hire someone with a camera, but hire someone who loves what they do.
Not every session can be a creative shoot, such as events. I go into events with the intention of capturing all the special and important moments so my client can just enjoy their day, without worry.
Ultimately my goal in every project is to create a safe, comfortable environment that combines the needs of the client with my artistic flare. I understand not everyone wants to be in front of the camera, and I spend extra time making sure a client understands the vision beforehand, with a brief education on posing, how equipment works, and how to find the light to capture the most flattering image.
If you’re not excited about the project before, during and after… you probably haven’t found the photographer that fits what you need.
Get to know me…
Clients let me into very personal and private moments when they hire me, so it is important to me that they know me as a person and feel comfortable with me. The only way to do this is to let them in on me as a person as well.
So here is a bit of information about me and my life… my pronouns are She/Her.
I am a LGBTQ Photographer
I am a bit of an introvert and it takes a bit to get me out of my shell. Like most people I suffer with some hardcore anxiety, to counteract it I tend to throw myself into my work with an intense planning process.
I have an amazing wife (my best friend) who I spend most of my time when I’m not at my day job, or creating art (and even sometimes when I am creating art.) I have a background and degree in Art and Apparel Design. I love comic books, all things nerdy, art, fashion, dance, and music.
During the week I work at a motorcycle jacket company as a seamstress. And my weekends are filled with photography. Even if I am not working on a job for a client I am often working on creative photo projects just for myself… Photography is my passion, not just a job.
